Online Marketing – Patience Is A Virtue
When you start marketing your website online, do not expect instant results. So many of my clients and the people I am mentoring expect to see their website at the top of Google after just a few days of starting a campaign. Not going to happen!
I remember a new Gold member in my Veretekk system just a few months ago: I trained him on how to use one of our services to generate quality backlinks to his website. So he did that, and called me the next day wondering why he could not see any of these backlinks in Google! Now that is simply an unrealistic approach.
SEO is an art as well as a science, and, like anything of value, takes time to mature. How quickly your website ranks for the keyword phrases you are targeting depends on any number of factors, such as:
- how much competition you have
- how much the Google spiders value your content
- how much content you are publishing
- how often you are publishing content
- how well your website pages are optimized for their target keywords
- how many backlinks are being generated to your website by your publishing efforts
- how often those backlinks are being created
- how well you are doing compared to others who are targeting the same keywords
- …..
You get the idea! There are so many factors involved that no-one can predict with any accuracy how soon your site will start to get ranked highly in the search engines.
You may see results in a week, You may not see results for many months. The point is to continue promoting. Produce good relevant content and distribute it constantly to the right places and you will see results.
I’ve been an online marketer for many years, and I rarely check the rankings of my sites. I don’t need to, because I know that the techniques I use and teach, work and work well. How do I know when a site is doing well? That’s when I start getting calls and emails from people interested in what I have to say, or, in the case of sites employing Adsense, Ebay, Amazon or some other affiliate product, when I start to see some sales.
I see so many marketers who worry and fret about how well their sites are ranking. No need to panic, I say! On the Internet, slow, easy and persistent will win the race.
Simply do something to promote yourself and your business every day and you will be rewarded. It make take a few weeks or even a few months. Be patient!
