In any serious work from home business, following up with your leads properly is absolutely essential. Proper followup can turn a lead into a buying customer or even a business partner. Your leads should be treated as the finest gold.
In the online business world, you will most often see autoresponders promoted as a solution to following up with leads. The general rule of thumb is that a person has to see a marketing message seven times before they will take action, and that email is the best way to do this.
Email works very well, and it does have it place. There are many good autoresponder systems available today, and a good autoresponder is certainly a powerful part of your overall business strategy. But don’t rely solely on autoresponders. Don’t try to hide behind your computer or your website, as a lot of online business owners seem to want to do. You are in business after all!

I recommend a simple ‘courtesy call’ (make sure you say that when you call) to touch base. Ask your prospect if they have any questions about your service or product, and ask them about their business and it goals. Do not try to sell them anything. By doing this, you are starting a positive relationship with this person. This will bring you more repeat business in the long run than any number of emails.
