Online Marketing WordPress Tip
I just came across an interesting tidbit of information that you may find useful.
If you are using WordPress blogs to publish websites, you most likely know that each WordPress blog has a built-in RSS feed.
The URL of your blog RSS feed will always look like this:
http://blogname.com/feed/
One of the uses of this RSS feed is to submit it to any online RSS Feed aggregator site you may find. There are lots of them around. You only have to do this once for each feed. This is another way to get the search engine spiders to index your sites again and again.
But did you know that if you are posting to a WordPress blog where you are not the only author, that WordPress also provides a feed for just the posts authored by you?
Here is what the URL for your author feed would look like:
http://blogname.com/author/yourauthorname/feed
So using this you can pick out just your posts and get them added to any RSS feed aggregator sites.
For example, I am a contributing author to this blog:
http://creativewritingfortheinternet.seoexperttechniques.com
My username there is businesscoach, so here is my RSS Feed for my posts:
http://creativewritingfortheinternet.seoexperttechniques.com/author/businesscoach/feed/
And, of course, by hyperlinking my feed here, the spiders will revisit all my content on that blog when they see this article…
My short online marketing tip for today!
